What We're Up to in 2024
What's on the Page?:
These events are primarily private and occasionally by invitation. They are a part of our development process and range from table reads to full workshops. We do this development work in our studio with local directors, actors, and theatremakers.
In February and March, we'll be workshopping "Writer's Block" by Laura and "Knock, Knock!" by Teri.
Works in Progress:
These events are open to the public and often include talkbacks. They feature plays that have had some development and are ready to be seen by an audience. This helps us, as playwrights, to see pacing, dialogue, and audience reaction.
2024 Works in Progress are TBD as we are still choosing the projects and exploring who we might collaborate with to present them, so stay tuned!
Shoreline Playwrights Present:
These events feature our completed work. They are open to the public and are often produced in collaboration with a theatre or other theatremakers.
This year, we'll collaborate with Drama Works Theatre in Old Saybrook to present two short plays based on the theme "fractured reliance." The plays will be "Community Service" by Teri and "Meet Me in the Lobby" by Laura. The production will be in June. Check below for details.

Miss Margaret’s Barton Cottage Christmas Surprise takes place 8 years after Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility — Margaret Dashwood returns home to surprise her family for the holidays. When she finds her former love interest, Lavinia, masquerading as the maid, jealousy, betrayal, and wild revelations threaten to upturn her plans for a lovely family holiday. Is Margaret willing to embrace her true feelings to save Christmas?
